A new Japanese town car just became mad. Civic got its more powerful and just brilliant looking version, and yes you heard right, it is the most powerful Civic SI version ever! Honda’s officials said that new SI has a dominant new look, and indeed it does. Let us see what does it have to offer.
General information
Over the years, Honda developed Civic from small town car to a real performer. Originally a subcompact it suffered more than a few changes trough generations. All this brought Civic to one of the most popular cars on the market, and its SI (Sport Injected) versions just improved it all. This SI version was introduced in Los Angeles international Auto Show in 2016, while its relative, more aggressive 2017 Honda Civic Type R was introduced in the same year at Paris Motor Show but as prototype version. New Civic SI is in a way logical step forward in a class of sporty small cars. It’s main competitors are Ford Focus ST and Volkswagen GTI.
2018 Honda Civic Si Exterior changes
The aerodynamic look of a new 2018 Honda Civic SI is stunning and if you look better it reminds a little bit of a Nissan GT-R, which is, in fact a good idea. The front is dominated by a huge intake grill and recognizable Honda sign, oh yes, she is screaming. Big, full LED headlights gave it the angry appearance while Sporty 19-inch wheels just improved the first impression. Honda also introduced a more sporty front and rear bumper, more massive than before. The rear of the car is now sportier also. Nice spoiler reminds of its speedy intentions and LED stop lights just blend in underneath. The exhaust pipe is centered, square like and it sounds… like power. The new Si will be available as a coupe and sedan version too.

Interior redesign
Lots of gadgets, buttons, massive steering wheel, AL pedals and gear nob are included as standard. Comfortable front seats are in black, with a red stitching. The 7-inch multi-functional display is placed in a center part of the console, with climate control underneath. The dashboard contains a carbon fiber details and red stitching too. Digital rev and speedometer will provide a driver with the information about his vehicle in the best way. One push start button is included too, as well as audio and climate control on the steering wheel.
Engine and specs
As expected, Civic SI will use the turbocharged version of standard Civic 4 cylinder 1,5 liters L15B7 engine. More than enough, this VTEC turbo powerplant provides the 205 HP and 192 lb-ft of torque. This number puts new 2018 Si between top Type R and Civic Hatchback Sport. More sport orientated than standard Civic, but still a car suitable for daily use. Transmission is done manually, by a six-speed precise gearbox.
Release date and price
Some say that 205 HP Si version is just a detuned type R, some might disagree, but one thing is sure, new 2018 Honda Civic SI is one nice and fun car to drive. If talk about the price both the coupe and sedan base version will coast $23,900.This new version shit the market.
