TOP 5 legendary Honda

Honda is one of the most famous Japanese brands. In 2019 alone, the company sold about 5 million new cars. No wonder. The manufacturer’s machines are characterized by an ideal price-quality ratio. 5 Honda cars won the title of “Best car for your money”: Civic 2016, Odyssey 2016, HR-V 2016, Pilot, Fit. But this is not the only pride of Honda. Over the entire period of its existence (since 1948), the manufacturer has repeatedly managed to win the title of one of the leaders in its industry and present several legendary cars to the world at once. TOP 5 of them will be considered below.

1. Honda S600


One of the first and most popular Honda S600 cars is a sports convertible. Already at the presentation (in 1963), he won the love of dozens of motorists. This has been achieved:

  • Streamlined body features;
  • Compact dimensions;
  • Round headlights;
  • Folding roof.

Externally, the legendary convertible resembles a toy car. At the same time, on the road, it can accelerate to 130 km / h. Perhaps this is due to the low weight of the machine (engine power is only 33 hp).

2. Honda Odyssey


Honda Odyssey is already a more modern legend. Its production was launched in 1994. The car was immediately positively received both in Japan and other countries. The roomy minivan had a fairly modern (for that time) look and good technical characteristics (automatic transmission, energy-intensive suspension, high power). The car was so well received in the world that the manufacturer decided to produce it in two versions from the second generation:

  • American (cars are distinguished by sliding doors, maximum engine power, increased body volume, front-wheel drive);
  • Asian (traditional models equipped with hinged doors and all-wheel drive).

Odyssey is produced to this day. The latest (5th) generation was introduced in 2013. And in 2016, a restyled version of the model appeared. This model can still be found in Junk Yards Quebec.

3. Honda CR-Z


Honda’s next legend is the CR-Z. The ancestor of the car is the CR-X. The CR-Z is known for its safety. The car is a hybrid coupe with noticeably rounded bodywork, a sporty look and a similar interior design. Even today, the car is considered one of the “greenest” (safest) in the US.

In terms of technical characteristics, the hybrid model is also doing well: a 10 kW electric motor, a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a power of 114 hp. 6-speed gearbox. Up to 100 km / h, the car accelerates in 9.7 seconds.

4. Honda Accord


The Accord is the car that helped Honda establish itself as one of the leaders in the global car market. From 1982 to 1997, this model was the best-selling among all cars presented (including by other manufacturers) in America. In the US alone, more than 8 million Accords have been sold over the entire period of sales. The first generation car won 6 awards in the Car of the Year… category according to various criteria.

Accord cars are popular today. The latest generation of the Accord (10th) was introduced by the manufacturer in 2017. The car received an engine with power from 192 to 252 hp, front-wheel drive and perfect aesthetic qualities.

5. Honda Civic


Civic is a true legend of Honda, which has been in production from 1972 to the present day. Many experts believe that it was this model that made the manufacturer global. The Civic is the first mass-produced Japanese car. It was he who became one of the first serious competitors to European cars. The increased reliability of the car, its compactness, attractive body features almost instantly made it popular. Such qualities are also characteristic of modern Civic models. The last (10th) generation of the car was released by the manufacturer in 2015.
