2019 Honda Odyssey Release Date

The new Odyssey is quite an impressive minivan for the price. It features pretty much all the newest features while not costing more than its predecessor. However, the car is still missing some features and it isn’t exactly the best driving model on the market. It looks like in order to change that, an update might be on its way with the upcoming 2019 Honda Odyssey. The car may receive slight tweaks to its trim levels and to its engine. Even though this will be a relatively small update, as Honda released the car not even a year ago, it should still feature quite a few interesting things.

2019 Honda Odyssey changes

Just like with its predecessor, the new Odyssey features the same modular architecture which also underpins the Pilot crossover. So far the car disappointed with its max-load performance and braking. While when empty the car is perfectly fine, it won’t really do well when fully loaded with passengers and luggage. In order to change that it looks like Honda may give the Odyssey slightly different shocks and springs. These should handle the car’s weight a bit better without compromising the comfort of its passengers. On top of that, it looks like the brakes will get better as well. This time around these will feature slightly bigger rotors in the front which should solve most issues.

Release and price

New 2019 Honda Odyssey hit the market in April,2018. Despite the fact that car haven’t get some major changes the new version is now more expensive than predecessor. You can see the prices in the table below.

Exterior

There is nothing really wrong with the way the current Odyssey looks. In order to pay homage to its predecessor, Honda decided to use the same step-down window-line which really sets it apart from the rest of the minivans on the market. On top of that, the body creases and the really aggressive front end allow the car to look quite a bit better than one might expect. For 2019 Honda may add a new trim level into the mix. So far there isn’t really a sporty version for it but this may change in the near future. The car could do with new headlights, a more aggressive grille as well as new rims. Expectation that Honda may release a more fuel efficient version for the 2019 Honda Odyssey incorrect., so we will need to wait for next generation.

Interior

The design here is great and it is by far one of the most ergonomic designs in its class. There is a vacuum in the trunk, the seats are really comfortable and the materials are great. The big drawback here are the middle seats. While these are comfortable, they are a bit too heavy and they aren’t as easy to move around as they should. For the 2019 Honda Odyssey the manufacturer may rethink the system but unfortunately nothing is certain up to this point.

Specs

The only available engine on the current model is a 3.5 liter naturally aspirated V6 which boasts 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Even though this doesn’t really sound impressive, it is a really capable engine. With it the car will hit 60 MPH in just 6.6 seconds and it will go up to hit a maximum top speed of 111 MPH. As standard the Odyssey gets a 10 speed automatic which drives the front wheels only. This is will remain same for the 2019 Honda Odyssey. So if we take into consideration all we saw and all we red, the biggest change will happened with the price, which will make this new version even more expensive than previous model. Thumbs down Honda, thumbs down!
