After 2017 facelift, Honda decided to do it all over again for the Jazz, also known as Honda Fit in some markets. Maybe we expected something more from a new model, but, Honda is right again. Current Honda Jazz is just good enough and facelifting with the addition of some new technological solutions will for sure get it ready for the years to come. The new 2018 Honda Jazz will get a fresh face without much disturbance of the current design. Let us remind that Honda Jazz/Fit is a premium class hatchback created and chosen from Honda to deal with the competition such as Toyota Yaris, and the little Honda is doing quite well.
Exterior design
The first thing we spotted, looking at new 2018 Honda Jazz is a redesigned new grille, which is obviously made to follow the one from the new Civic. This design change gave the new model a more athletic look. The front light cluster has been revisited too, and now the old light components have been replaced with the all-new graphic appearance and LED daytime running lights. The front bumper has been revisited also, and now Jazz looks even more sporty than before. Some new details like black enclosures around the fog lights and black outside rear view mirror just blend in to make the overall appearance complete and just beautiful. The rear also suffered some tinkering. The LED tail lights are changed and also got the new graphic, and the bumper is changed so the new car got an even slimmer profile. For the Europe market 2018 Jazz will come with new Dynamic sport package which come with new front bumper and rear diffuser , new set of thresholds, rear roof spoiler, front fog lights, LED front lights, gloss black 16 aluminium wheels.
Interior
Other than new upholstery, the new Honda Jazz remained almost the same as before inside. The dashboard and touchscreen are modern enough and can remain the same for the new facelifted car. Even the new upholstery options could easily be an available option for the Japanese market only. Honda based it’s tweaks to the technology and equipment rather than looks. As a standard equipment new 2018 Jazz will come with automatic headlights, cruise control, a 7-inch infotainment system, rear-view camera, keyless entry and start, Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Warning.
Engine and specs
There were some rumors that the new Honda Jazz will get a brand new powertrain, but those seem to be false. The Jazz will continue to get a 1.5 i-VTEC petrol engines which produces 117 hp and 146 Nm of torque, and the hybrid version will also be offered in Japan. The old powertrain seems to be doing just fine so Honda decided not to change that. The expected engine for the facelifted Honda Jazz was 1 liter, three cylinders turbocharged petrol engine, and it is not excluded that some new versions of Honda Jazz will home this smaller, but more efficient powerplant. The base model will be offered with six gear manual transmission while top range models will posses CVT. In Thailand will also bi offered RS variant of this car with more sportier design.
Technology features
When it comes to the technology, Honda always offers just the best, and the new Jazz is not the exception. Lack of changes when it comes to the interior as compensated for all new safety and driver assistance features such as Pedestrian Collision Mitigation Steering System, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Mitigation System, and so on. The complete list of the new features is kept secret and will be revealed at the same time as the new Honda is launched.
