2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid

Honda’s CR-V is a supremely popular crossover which basically uses the Honda Civic platform in an SUV body. The CR-V found its place just between the smaller HR-V and the larger Pilot and according to Honda the CR-V stands for “Comfortable Runabout Vehicle”, and boy it sure is. Since we recently had the redesigned Civic, we can surely say that the 2019 Honda CR-V will receive some of its styling, mechanical parts and engines alternatives, of course retuned and prepared especially for the CR-V.

Exterior and interior design

If you recall the last year’s model got heavily redesigned inside and out. It received a lot longer hood, a wider stance and more muscular fenders, which made it look a lot beefier. That paired with an excellent handling improvements and additional ground clearance made the CR-V one awesome ride. For the 2019 My we do not expect a lot to change, at least on the outside design department, but there is a global opinion on line that Honda is preparing a little more aggressive and sportier look and the highlight of that will apparently be a new and larger grill and front bumper.

As far as the interior is considered, we do not see a lot changing inside, the whole cabin should remain the same as it is. One thing is for sure, since the current CR-V has a seven-inch touch-screen with a system that operates Apple CarPlay, Android Vehicle and navigation system, we presume that a slight update in that department is to be expected, plus we just might see some new tech from the safety department.

2019 Honda CR-V engine and specs

The engine line-up will be taken from the current gen, and that means that Honda CR-V 2019 will posses those familiar 1.5 L four cylinder with direct injection and a 2.4 L both of which offer around 185 HP. It seems that Honda will make an effort and offer a third unit with the 2019 MY, and according to a lot of speculations online it might actually be the plug-in hybrid. Honda supposed to combine the 2.0 L gasoline four-cylinder, two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack which is also used in new Honda Accord Hybrid. This will be able to produce 212 hp which will give the car great amount of power. According to some rumors hybrid version should also hit the USA market. The transmission on the other hand is no mystery and it will be a choice between a six-speed manual or CVT transmission, and only the top trim will offer the AWD distribution.

Release date and price for Honda CR-V 2019

The release date is unconfirmed so far, but a lot of speculations are certain that the 2018 (end of) will be the year for Honda, mainly because a lot is expected to happen for Honda than. As for the price, we do not believe it will change much. It will probably rise slightly but the main price bump will be for the 2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid edition which is expected to get at least a $10.000 bump on the price. Base version should coast around $25,000 while top model will be $33,000.
