2019 Honda Accord Price

Honda released the 10th generation of the Accord a few months ago. So far the car managed to impress quite a few people but unfortunately it isn’t exactly perfect. The car is still missing a few core features and it looks like it may not drive as good as some people hoped. In order to change that the manufacturer is likely going to release an update with the upcoming 2019 Honda Accord. The car is likely going to boast a few changes under the skin, likely a new trim levels and some changes inside the cabin. The end result should be a more polished vehicle that will finally reach the level everyone was expecting.

Changes

Unlike its predecessor, the new Accord is actually using an entirely new platform. This is shared with the Civic but it features a longer wheelbase and it is slightly wider as well. The new platform, despite being cheaper to make, uses more high strength steel and better overall materials. The end result is better NVH levels as well as a stiffer overall architecture. This allows the new Accord to boast better safety crash ratings while also being better to drive than before. So far the drawback proved to be the running gear. Even though the car uses a fully independent suspension setup, the running gear is nowhere near as good as it should.

Most rumors seem to suggest the upcoming 2019 Honda Accord will boast different springs in order to allow the car to be slightly more compliant than before. With this update Honda should also release an entirely new trim level for the Accord. It looks like this may be the 2019 Honda Accord Type R, a high performance version set to compete with the fastest sedans on the market.

Release date and price

Considering the past, it is safe to assume the revision of the Accord will come some time in the mid of 2018. The price of the car is still well under wraps but we doubt much will change over the ongoing model. The only real difference will likely happen with the Type R which may start at over $40,000, thus becoming one of Honda’s most expensive cars.

Exterior design

Being as new as it is, the updated 2019 Honda Accord is not going to change all that much. The car will continue to offer the same swept-back LED headlights, the really minimalist-looking grille and the relatively aggressive body style. Unlike its predecessor, the new model features a coupe-like design which seems to attract quite a few more people than ever before. The rumored Type R would only get things a step further. This model is likely going to feature a new set of bumpers, likely more aggressive side-skirts, new wheels as well as a lower suspension system. Some suggested the car may come in new color schemes but this has yet to be revealed. To check the heavy equipped Honda Accord, visit sites such as Armormax.

2019 Honda Accord specs

The base model of the 2019 Accord should boast the same 1.5 liter turbo-four as before. With around 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque this should easily get most drivers around. The higher end models will get a slightly larger 2.0 liter turbocharged mill which will deliver 252 horsepower which is quite a bit more. Both of these will hit 60 MPH in less than 7.0 seconds and both of them will offer similar fuel economy. The Type R would likely get a revised version of the 2.0 liter engine with closer to 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the rest, this one might also get all wheel drive which would make things quite interesting. The updated model of the car is also likely going to receive a hybrid powertrain with around 200 horsepower and capable of delivering over 45 MPG on average.

Interior

The current version of the Accord has to boast one of the best cabins in its class. The minimalist styling, the great materials and the awesome driving position allow the car to rise above its rivals. Unfortunately the car’s infotainment system could be better while the analogue dials look dated already. The 2019 Honda Accord is likely going to change both of these with slightly newer versions. The Type R on the other hand will likely add different sportier seats and possibly aluminum or carbon fiber inserts in order to look a bit sportier.
