2017 Honda CR-V fully improved

It has been 21 years since first Honda CR-V appeared in Japan, and from then onwards, from one generation of vehicle to another, it has been taking markets by storm. Challenging redesigns, new engines, two and four wheel drive variants, took CR-V to the top of the best mid range SUV-s list. Brand new Honda CR-V is expected to be a real top of the class. Taller, wider and longer than its predecessor, it promises to bring better drive experience. A blast from the past, Honda is bringing back a volume knob. This means that users will no longer have to deal with a sensitive volume touch slider control.

New Honda CR-V Changes

As said before, new Honda CR-V 2017 has a longer wheelspin, also, muscular fenders and additional ground clearance make it higher than a generation before. New Honda borrows its look from its other relatives. Headlights are inherited from Civic and Acura’s style, sharp, and flowing directly into the grill. Massive hood, big sunroof, and Volvo-like tailgate remind that new Honda is a serious crossover SUV of its class. Basically, the shape is the same as before but made look really pretty.



Interior is sharp, simple and usable. Single 7-inch touchscreen dominates the center of a dashboard. Nicely placed gear lever sits high. The classic analog speedometer is ditched, leaving the place for a new digital one, like the Civic. Longer vehicle mean that a rear legroom is some 2 inches bigger than a generation before, which also made CR-V more comfortable. It will most probably be offered as 5 and 7 seater variants.



Engine and specs

To supply all this beauty, Honda chose two variants for a powerplant. Four cylinder 1,5-liter engine releases 174 hp spinning at 6000 rpm. It gives about 179 lb-ft of torque.
Second, the stronger variant is four cylinder 2,4-liter petrol engine, which generates 184 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque.

Both engine variants are equipped with CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). I up shift with almost none kick down when you put your leg onto the accelerator for passing. It is also available in FWD and AWD variants.

New Features

As said before, new Honda packs a 7-inch touchscreen display, featuring audio and information systems which are compatible with Apple CarPlay and android audio. It also features new Honda Satellite-linked navigation system. Other new features are USB ports, proximity key with a remote engine start, dual zone climate control and electronic parking brake. A bunch of safety features is included also. All variants, except LX, are coming with Honda sensing, a manufacturer’s suite of active and passive safety systems. Those systems include adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane keep and lane departure warning systems, forward collision warning and road departure mitigation. New owners can additionally buy blind spot monitoring systems as well.

Release Date and Price

The new Honda CR-V  2017 will be released in December,21. More power, more space, better equipment, just the usual things we are used to when it comes to Honda’s new cars. If we speak about the price it will start in USA from 24, 945$ for the LX base model. The EX trim will coast $27,575 which is for $580 more than last model. The most expensive is Touring edition for which you need to pay $33.275. All models come with front-wheel-drive as standard  and if  you want to posses all-wheel-drive you will need to give $1,300 extra.
