Exterior of this model will be designed with specific details that are inspired from the first generation model while there will be some detailing borrowed from regular NSX model as well. What is new, is use of the shrunken NSX patent drawings that appeared online several months ago, meaning that the NSX Type R might use similar styling cues, according to speculations. Front part of this model will feature added splitters and more aggressive look, while the rear wing will also improve its look and aerodynamics. It will also have better stance on the track thanks to slightly wider body and wider, gripper and lightweight wheels. Honda went even further, according to rumors, with special suspension and suspension tuning that will help this car stick to road like white on rice, accompanied with bigger track brakes to make it stop even better.

If we speak about interior Honda will utilize carbon fiber materials on the inside as well as outside, to keep this sports car as slim as possible. In order to achieve that, this track ready model will include carbon fiber made bucket seats and as less other equipment like sat nav, sound system etc, as possible since they add to overall weight. Not much though but when you are making a special track car that is supposed to carry its name among the best, every pound counts. Engineers will probably keep air conditioning system inside but sound insulation materials will be used as minimal is possible as well. What we all have to have in mind is that you do not by this car for its comfort, but for its performance, speed, suspension and sheer fun that it provides on the closed track. The cockpit is going to be next gen and similar to formula style. It is supposed to be driver oriented as much as possible, without distractions, so you can concentrate on the road itself.

NSX Type R engine

This part of the new 2018 NSX Type R is full of info, but pretty much unconfirmed info. There are many speculations regarding the powertrain, but one thing is for sure, NSX Type R is going Hybrid. Apparently most info revolves around it having a 3.5L V6 twin turbo engine that will produce near600 HP and incredible amount of torque thanks to electric motors, that are supposed to kick in exactly when needed to help the engine give its best. This will be implemented by adding 2 different electric motors at the front end of the car. Not only can these act independently but, apparently, Honda is looking to improve on the car’s ability to jump from 0-60 in less than 3 seconds. All of this will be accompanied by a 9 speed dual clutch transmission system. If all of this turns out to be like said, this car will be rolling adrenaline rush for all of us petrol-heads looking for the next kick.
